Miscreants Assault Truck Driver In Bolangir, Loot Rs 1.5 Lakh

Bolangir: Four masked bike-borne miscreants reportedly attacked a truck driver on National Highway 59 near Gurunga village under Muribahal police limits in Bolangir district and looted Rs 1.5 lakh and a mobile phone from him.

The victim has been identified as Bharat Meher (30) of Rajagalpur village under Agalpur police station in the district.

As per reports, Bharat was attacked by the miscreants when he was on his way from Bandapipil of Kandhamal to Patnagarh through Titlagarh by his truck bearing reg. no. OD15W8871. Around 4:30 am, he parked his truck near Gurunda village to take a rest.

At that time, four masked miscreants came to him on two bikes and introduced themselves as police. As Bharat opened the truck door, they threw spices into his eyes and attacked him with sharp weapons they were holding.

Afterwards, they looted the cash and mobile phone from him and fled from the spot. After the incident, Bharat filed a complaint in the Muribahal police station and then went to a private hospital for treatment. Based on the complaint registered, the police started an investigation to catch the miscreants.
