Six members of a family from Bihar sustained critical injuries when their Scorpio rammed into a trailer near Betnoti on NH-18 at 5 am today.
The family was travelling to Puri for Lord Jagannath’s darshan. The accident occurred when the trailer suddenly turned left into a petrol pump. The Scorpio driver lost control and hit the truck from behind.
Locals and police immediately rescued the injured. They were first taken to the Betnoti Community Health Centre and later shifted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada for advanced treatment.
Betnoti police launched an investigation into the incident. Officers are examining the circumstances that led to the collision.
