Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested for allegedly killing two kittens by throwing them in front of stray dogs at Prashant vihar in the state capital.
The arrestee has been identified as Muralidhar Behera of Prashant Vihar under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, the matter came to the fore after the video clip went viral in which the accused throwing kittens which entered his house in front of stray dogs within moments, the dogs mauled the kittens to death. Moreover, Instead of whisking them away, he threw them before the stray dogs outside his home. His ghastly act has been captured in a CCTV camera installed near his home.
Following this, an animal lover, Gaurav Udgata lodged a complaint with the Infocity Police station.
On the Basis of the FIR, the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC.
Notably, in May 2020, a pregnant dog was beaten mercilessly by a woman leaving it in a miserable condition that could hardly move when it was rescued and rushed to the hospital. Despite all attempts, she could not be saved and her two premature puppies who were delivered after a C-Section surgery also succumbed later.
