A person lost his life while trying to save his niece from electrocution in Chinamali Tondia Sahi under Patna block of Keonjhar district.

The tragedy unfolded as young Anjali Behera came into contact with a live wire while drying clothes.

Her uncle, Duhsasan Behera, rushed to rescue her but was also struck by the electric current. In a final act of bravery, another uncle Duryodhan Behera attempted to save both, only to be rendered unconscious by the shock.

All three were immediately taken to Patna Group Health Center, where doctors declared Duryodhan Behera dead. Anjali and Duhsasan remain in critical condition and are undergoing treatment.

Local police arrived at the health center, conducted an autopsy, and handed over the body to the grieving family. The incident has left the community in mourning and raised concerns about electrical safety in rural areas.
