Ganjam: A man allegedly bludgeoned his wife to death before taking his own life at Bedhachhelu village under Purushottampur police limits here in Ganjam district on Wednesday night.
According to reports, Prasant Muduli had troubles and engaged in frequent altercation with his wife Jhili.
Last night, Prashant returned home in an inebriated condition.
The verbal exchange later turned ugly when Prasant went berserk and reportedly crushed Jhili’s head with a grinding stone killing her on the spot.
Later, he allegedly hung himself with the help of a chain inside the house.The duo is survived by an 18-year-old son and daughter (13).
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the bodies for post-mortem. A case has been registered in this regard.
