Indian cinema continues to make its mark internationally as Major, starring Saiee M Manjrekar and Adivi Sesh, is set to be screened in Japan.

Hosted by the Indian Embassy in Japan, the special screening will take place on April 29, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:50 pm, offering audiences a free-of-cost experience with Japanese subtitles. However, attendees must pre-register for the event.

This screening is more than just a cinematic event—it is a cultural bridge, sharing India’s rich storytelling and national pride with Japanese audiences. The film narrates the heroic journey of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who sacrificed his life while saving civilians during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. His story, filled with courage and patriotism, resonates deeply with audiences worldwide.

Actor Adivi Sesh, who portrayed Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce this milestone. The film’s screening in Japan highlights the global reach of Indian cinema, emphasizing the power of storytelling beyond borders.

Alongside Adivi Sesh, actress Saiee M Manjrekar played a pivotal role as his on-screen wife, bringing emotional depth to the narrative. Her performance, praised for its grace and intensity, added layers to the story, making it both action-packed and emotionally resonant.

As Major prepares for its Japanese screening, it solidifies its position as a film that celebrates bravery, love, sacrifice, and the impact of Indian cinema on the global stage.
