Low Pressure Alert Odisha

A low-pressure zone continues to persist over the southeast Bay of Bengal, with meteorologists closely monitoring its potential to intensify into a depression by October 21.

The system currently moves in a west-northwest direction and shows signs of strengthening. Weather experts are closely monitoring its development, especially as it may impact coastal regions later this week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for fishermen and advised caution in the southern and west-central Bay of Bengal.

Forecast models suggest the low-pressure zone could evolve into a depression, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall to parts of Odisha and neighboring states. The likelihood of intensified weather activity has raised concerns among disaster management authorities.

Officials have begun preparations to mitigate potential disruptions. Coastal districts may experience rough sea conditions, prompting advisories for restricted marine activity. Residents in vulnerable areas are urged to stay informed and follow official updates.

The IMD continues to analyze satellite imagery and atmospheric data to track the system’s progress. If the depression forms, it could influence weather patterns across eastern India during the festive season.

This development highlights the importance of early warning systems and coordinated response efforts. Authorities remain vigilant as the situation unfolds.
