Nabarangpur: As many as three persons died after lightning struck them at Patrimal village under Raighar police limits in Nabarangpur district on Monday.
The deceased persons include a land owner, tractor driver and a farmer of the same village.
According to reports, the incident took place when the farmer and the tractor driver were engaged in paddy cultivation work.
Suddenly the lightning struck them when thunder followed by rain came up while they were preparing paddy seedlings in their fields.
On intimation, Raighar police reached the hospital and registered three separate cases of unnatural death. The bodies were handed over to the bereaved families after post-mortem, reports said.
A pal of gloom descended on both the village following the tragic deaths of two persons in the lighting strikes.
