Kataka is gearing up for the Ganesh idol immersion process with enhanced security and crowd-management measures, as authorities step up preparations to ensure a smooth and incident-free Visarjan.
Kataka Mayor Subash Singh and Commissioner Kirandeep Kaur Sohta reviewed the arrangements at Devigada, one of the key locations for idol immersion in the city.
Officials from different departments also visited the site to assess the preparations and identify measures needed to manage crowds and ensure public safety during the immersion process.
Barricades And Security Measures Planned
Barricading arrangements will be put in place at the immersion site to regulate crowds and prevent accidents.
The preparations assume greater importance this year as a larger number of Ganesh idols have been installed across Kataka city. Authorities are therefore making additional arrangements to manage the movement of people and immersion processions.
The city’s Municipal Corporation has constructed 13 temporary ponds this year for idol immersion.
NDRF And Fire Teams To Be Deployed
To deal with any emergency during the Visarjan, NDRF personnel and fire service teams will be deployed at the required locations.
Authorities have also decided to complete essential infrastructure work at Devigada before the immersion, including lighting, road-related arrangements and tents.
Puja Mandaps Asked To Coordinate With Police
Puja committees have been advised not to undertake idol immersion at their convenience without prior coordination.
They have been asked to inform the police in advance about their immersion plans and follow the prescribed arrangements during the process.
Authorities have stressed caution and adherence to the designated procedures to ensure that the Puja, festival celebrations and Visarjan activities conclude peacefully.
