Junagarh police achieved a major breakthrough in Kalahandi district by arresting six accused and recovering 44 stolen motorcycles during a targeted operation.
The case was registered under Junagarh PS Case No.255 dated May 13, 2026, under BNS Section 303(2).
The investigation began after Lingraj Naik of Palas village reported his Hero HF Deluxe bike stolen on February 10. Police interrogated Suraj Kaibarta, Pavan Kaibarta, and Alok Barik, who confessed to stealing motorcycles from different areas. They revealed that the stolen bikes were stored with Akash Kaibarta, Chand Naik, and Samir Durga, who sold them at low prices.
Police recovered 17 Hero HF Deluxe, 5 CD Deluxe, 7 Splendor Plus, 3 Splendor Pro, 3 Hero Passion Plus, 4 Hero Glamour, along with Yamaha Fascino, Honda Aviator, Honda Activa, Bajaj Pulsar, and Royal Enfield motorcycles.
Kalahandi SP Nagaraj Devarakonda addressed a press meet at Junagarh police station, joined by Dharmagarh SDPO Varshita Adepu and Junagarh IIC Shesadev Behera. Authorities confirmed that all six accused were produced before the JMFC Court in Junagarh today.
