A 23-year-old Indian student, Arshpreet Singh Khahra, tragically lost his life in a horrific truck crash near Perth, Western Australia. Originally from Tarn Taran in Punjab, Arshpreet had moved to Australia to pursue higher education and was working part-time as a truck driver to support himself.
The fatal crash occurred just after 8:15 am on Tuesday along the Great Eastern Highway near the Old Northam Road intersection in Wooroloo, northeast of Perth. According to reports from 7 News Australia, Arshpreet was driving a white Volvo truck when it veered off the road, broke through a barrier, overturned, and burst into flames.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but Arshpreet, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found trapped inside the burning truck and declared dead on-site. The vehicle was found split in half and severely charred.
Arshpreet’s grieving family in Punjab has appealed to Indian and Australian authorities to expedite the repatriation of his body. The tragic news has left the village in mourning, with relatives remembering him as a hardworking and ambitious young man trying to build a better future abroad.
