IIT Bhubaneswar announced the launch of an industry-linked M.Tech programme in Cybersecurity on May 12, 2026, developed in collaboration with WhizHack Technologies.

The initiative targets engineers working in industries and government sectors, offering a flexible blended-mode structure that combines academic learning with hands-on industry exposure.

The programme responds to the rising demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals across critical infrastructure, finance, defence, and enterprise security. Unlike traditional admissions, candidates do not require a GATE qualification; selection will be based on academic background and professional experience.

The curriculum covers secure system design, cyber risk assessment, governance and compliance, AI-driven security, blockchain security, and advanced attack-defence strategies. Participants will gain practical exposure through cyber labs and real-world simulations using Cyber Range technology. The programme also emphasises strategic cybersecurity management and industry-oriented research to prepare professionals for leadership roles.

Officials said the course reflects IIT Bhubaneswar’s focus on combining foundational science with real-world impact. The programme is scheduled to commence on July 24, 2026, with applications currently open for eligible candidates from industry and related sectors.
