New Delhi: Jharkhand politics has intensified as Sita Soren the sister-in-law of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren joined BJP on Tuesday. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) tweeted on the social media handle X about the incident expressing its shock.
“I worked for the party (JMM) for 14 years but I never got the respect I deserved from the party. Due to this, I had to take the decision (to join BJP). Expressing my confidence in PM Modi, JP Nadda ji and Amit Shah ji, I joined the BJP today. We have to save Jharkhand and the lives of our tribal brothers. There is a need for change in Jharkhand..,” Sita Soren said after joining the BJP.
Report says, Sita Soren was unhappy about not being chosen as the Chief Minister after Hemant Soren’s arrest. Then Champai Soren was chosen as Hemant Soren’s successor instead of people from his family members. She further alleged about conspiracy plotted against her inside the party. She also raised doubt about the vision and value of the party saying the party is now in the wrong hands.
The three-time MLA from the JMM has accused the party of treating her and her daughters like untouchables. She alleges this isolation has occurred despite her nearly 15 years of dedicated service to the party.
Calling the entire incident unfortunate for the JMM, MP Mahua Maji asked the party to exercise patience during this challenging period.
Notably, Sita Soren is the elder daughter-in-law of JMM founder Shibu Soren and the wife of the late Durga Soren. Durga, the eldest son of Shibu Soren, was supposed to be the successor of the party among the Soren siblings. But unfortunately, his life was cut short.
