The Malkangiri district administration announced a four-day holiday for all schools from April 22 to April 25. The directive covers both government and private institutions, including classes from kindergarten to Grade 12.
Officials clarified that while regular classes remain suspended, supplementary examinations for Grades 5 and 8 will continue as scheduled. Other board examinations and census-related activities will also proceed without interruption.
To ensure administrative work continues, schools will remain open for teachers and staff between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. during the holiday period. Authorities emphasised that this arrangement balances student safety with ongoing academic and official responsibilities.
Parents welcomed the decision, noting that the extended break provides relief for children amid the prevailing conditions. Teachers expressed readiness to manage examinations and census duties within the adjusted schedule.
