India’s women’s doubles duo Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have achieved a remarkable surge in the latest world badminton rankings after their heroic bronze medal run at the World Championships in Delhi.
The pair, who entered the tournament ranked No. 39, climbed 12 places to No. 27—marking the biggest rise among the top 50 women’s doubles pairs. Their breakthrough medal was India’s first in women’s doubles at the prestigious event.
Treesa and Gayatri stunned higher‑ranked opponents throughout the tournament, including a dramatic quarter‑final victory over China’s Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian.
