Odisha’s Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick has assured that egg prices will slowly decline in the coming days as production increases.
Mallick said demand for eggs remains strong within the state, while significant quantities are also being exported outside, leading to recent price hikes. Currently, Odisha produces about 1.25 crore eggs per day, but the government has set a target of 2 crore eggs daily to stabilise supply and meet growing demand.
To achieve this, the state is offering various incentives for poultry farming, aiming to boost production capacity. The minister emphasised that with enhanced support and expansion, egg availability will improve and prices will normalise.
