Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a man and his 5-year-old daughter met watery grave in a pond at Salebhata village of Notified Area Council (NAC), Nuapada on Tuesday.
As per reports, the incident occurred while the duo had gone to take bath when they accidentally slipped into deep water. The family members made a frantic search as both father-daughter duo did not return for long.
Thereafter, the locals spotted their slippers near the pond and suspected that they might have drowned. It is suspected that the man might have drowned in order to save her daughter.
Later, the villagers retrieve the bodies from the pond. Following the incident, a pall of gloom descended in the village.
