Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Friday called for a nationwide public movement against recurring examination paper leaks, saying the problem has grown into a massive racket that threatens the future of millions of students across India.
His appeal comes just a day before a planned protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where activists and students are expected to gather to demand accountability over recent examination controversies.
Kejriwal Urges Students and Citizens to Speak Up
In a post on social media platform X, Kejriwal alleged that paper leaks have become a large-scale business involving influential individuals.
According to him, the issue will continue unless students, parents, and citizens collectively pressure authorities to take strict action.
“Paper leaks are a business worth billions and trillions. This racket involves very big-shot people. Until all of you take to the streets and force the government to act, this racket won’t stop,” Kejriwal said.
He further warned that similar controversies could continue in future examinations if decisive steps are not taken now.
Exam Controversies Spark National Debate
The issue of examination integrity has remained in the spotlight following several high-profile controversies.
The cancellation of NEET UG 2026 shortly after the examination was conducted triggered widespread concern among students and parents. Questions were raised about fairness, transparency, and the security of the examination process.
More recently, controversy surrounding CBSE Class 12 results added to public frustration. Students reported issues related to answer sheet scanning, evaluation discrepancies, and technical glitches during the re-evaluation process.
These developments have intensified the debate around reforms in India’s examination system.
Opposition Targets Government Over Education Crisis
Opposition leaders have continued to criticize the central government over the recurring controversies.
Several political leaders have demanded stronger safeguards to prevent paper leaks and ensure fair examinations. Calls have also grown for greater accountability within the education system.
The issue has become a major talking point among students, educators, and policymakers across the country.
June 6 Protest Expected to Draw Attention
The upcoming June 6 demonstration at Jantar Mantar is expected to attract students, activists, and concerned citizens.
The protest aims to highlight concerns about examination transparency and seek action against those responsible for alleged irregularities.
Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has also expressed support for the movement and indicated that he may participate if meaningful action is not taken.
Growing Demand for Education Reforms
Education experts say repeated controversies can affect student confidence and create uncertainty for families investing years of effort in competitive examinations.
Many stakeholders are now calling for:
- Stronger examination security systems
- Faster investigations into paper leak allegations
- Greater transparency in result processing
- Improved accountability mechanisms
- Protection of students’ interests
Why This Matters
Millions of students compete in national-level examinations every year. Any disruption in the process can have a direct impact on academic careers and future opportunities.
As public concern continues to grow, the focus is increasingly shifting toward long-term reforms that can strengthen trust in India’s examination system.
With protests planned and political pressure mounting, the coming days could prove significant in shaping the national conversation around education reforms and examination integrity.
