The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has released a detailed list of do’s and don’ts ahead of its planned June 6 protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where participants are expected to gather to demand accountability over recent examination controversies.
The protest, which has attracted significant attention on social media, is being positioned as a peaceful demonstration focused on education reforms and student concerns.
Protest Scheduled at Jantar Mantar
According to the advisory shared by the organization, participants have been asked to assemble near Parliament Street Police Station, close to Jantar Mantar, at 9 am on June 6.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke confirmed that he is travelling to India ahead of the event. Earlier, supporters had been urged to gather at Delhi airport, but organizers later requested people not to do so in order to avoid inconvenience to the public.
In a social media message, the organization described the event as a peaceful and democratic expression of dissent.
“Time to turn this tiny joke into a revolution. Get ready to gather peacefully and raise your voice for accountability,” the message stated.
What Protesters Have Been Asked to Do
The organization has issued several guidelines for participants.
Carry the National Flag
Organizers have encouraged participants to bring the Indian national flag and books, symbolising support for education, equal opportunity, and constitutional values.
Document the Event Responsibly
Participants have also been advised to record and document the protest peacefully and responsibly.
Cooperate With Authorities
The advisory asks attendees to immediately report any suspicious or disruptive activity to law enforcement officials.
Stay Safe in the Heat
With temperatures expected to remain high, organizers have advised people to:
- Stay hydrated
- Wear caps or hats
- Apply sunscreen
- Take necessary health precautions
The message emphasized that personal safety should remain a priority throughout the demonstration.
What Protesters Have Been Asked Not to Do
The advisory also outlines actions participants should avoid.
Avoid Attending Alone
Organizers suggested attending with friends or family members whenever possible.
Do Not Engage in Confrontation
Participants have been asked not to engage with provocateurs, trolls, or individuals attempting to create disturbances.
Respect Security Personnel
Instead of creating confrontation, organizers encouraged participants to interact respectfully with police personnel and law enforcement authorities.
Do Not Skip Meals
In a light-hearted message that quickly gained attention online, organizers reminded attendees to eat before arriving.
“Don’t show up hungry. Change requires energy,” the advisory noted.
Why Is the Protest Being Held?
The June 6 protest is focused on concerns surrounding recent examination controversies, including issues linked to national entrance examinations and board examination processes.
Organizers argue that students deserve greater transparency, accountability, and fairness within the education system.
The demonstration’s primary demand is increased accountability from authorities responsible for conducting examinations and managing educational institutions.
Growing Public Attention
The movement has gained visibility across social media platforms, particularly among students and young people discussing examination-related concerns.
Organizers say the protest is open to people regardless of political affiliation and have invited students, parents, educators, and citizens to participate peacefully.
Focus on Peaceful Participation
Throughout its communication, the organization has repeatedly stressed that the protest should remain peaceful, lawful, and respectful.
Participants have been encouraged to follow all legal instructions, cooperate with authorities, and ensure the demonstration remains focused on education-related concerns.
As attention builds ahead of June 6, the protest is expected to draw students, activists, parents, and concerned citizens seeking reforms and greater transparency within India’s education system.
