Odisha’s Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) have achieved a landmark moment as three of their alumni cleared the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2026 conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

Their success highlights the transformative impact of quality education among tribal communities.

Leading the achievers is Nilima Kumari Nayak, a member of the Gond tribe from Keonjhar district, who secured the 194th rank. A 2017 graduate of EMRS Ranki, Nilima now serves as an Assistant Labour Officer. Her journey from a modest background to the civil services inspires tribal youth across the state.

Krushna Chandra Hembram, from the Santal tribe of Keonjhar, earned the 185th rank. A teacher at EMRS Bhawanipur and a 2017 pass-out from EMRS Rampilo, Krushna overcame personal tragedy after losing both parents to achieve his dream of serving society.

Keshaba Majhi, belonging to the Bhatra tribe of Nabarangpur district, secured the 182nd rank. A teacher and alumnus of EMRS Hirli, Keshaba’s rise from a farming family to the civil services exemplifies determination and perseverance.
