A shocking murder case has rocked Dhenkanal district, where a drunken husband allegedly killed his wife after she refused to give him money received under the Subhadra scheme.
The incident occurred at Aindipur Juang Sahi under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits.
According to police sources, the accused was a habitual drinker and had demanded the scheme money from his wife. When she refused, a heated argument ensued. In a fit of rage, he beat her brutally with a stick and a shovel, leading to her death. The man then buried the body inside a toilet tank near their house to conceal the crime.
After receiving information, Dhenkanal Sadar police reached the spot and began an investigation. A scientific team also visited the scene to collect evidence. The accused has been arrested, and police have conducted a crime scene recreation to understand the sequence of events.
The gruesome murder has triggered shock and fear in the locality. Residents said that alcohol addiction and domestic disputes often lead to such tragic incidents. Police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and that strict legal action will be taken against the accused.
