Rajinikanth’s much-awaited action entertainer Jailer 2 is generating strong pre-release momentum, with its worldwide advance bookings reportedly crossing the Rs 20 crore mark within roughly 24 hours of opening in major markets.
With four days remaining before the film hits theatres on October 15, the early booking numbers have strengthened expectations of a big opening for the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial.
Overseas Markets Lead Pre-Sales
Advance bookings for Jailer 2 began in India on October 10, while selected overseas markets opened earlier.
According to the reported booking update, overseas markets have been a major contributor to the film’s early pre-sales, with international bookings nearing the $2 million mark.
Trade-tracking data also indicates strong overseas demand, with reports putting international advance sales above Rs 11 crore before the domestic booking window fully opened.
Tamil Nadu Drives Domestic Demand
In India, Jailer 2 recorded more than Rs 4 crore in advance sales despite bookings not being fully open across all states and centres at the time of the initial update.
Tamil Nadu has emerged as the biggest domestic market, accounting for the overwhelming majority of early bookings. Chennai alone has contributed a substantial share of the advance sales.
The domestic numbers are expected to rise as bookings expand across more states and versions, including the Hindi-dubbed release.

Jailer 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026.
Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Nelson Dilipkumar once again writing and directing the film. Kalanithi Maran is producing the sequel under the Sun Pictures banner.
The cast includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa, while Mammootty and Shiva Rajkumar are also expected to appear in cameo roles, continuing the multi-industry appeal of the franchise.

Hrithik Roshan Cameo Still Unconfirmed
A reported Hrithik Roshan cameo has also added to the buzz surrounding Jailer 2.
Fans began speculating about his possible appearance after the trailer featured a brief silhouette that some viewers believed could be the Bollywood star. However, there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers about his involvement.
