A tragic accident occurred near Nuagaon bridge in Ganjam district on Friday morning when a car lost balance and fell off the bridge.
The driver, identified as Sunil Mohanty of Landeisahi, Bhanjanagar, died on the spot.
According to reports, Mohanty was driving towards Belguntha when his vehicle veered off the bridge. Fire service personnel from Bhanjanagar rushed to the site, retrieved the car, and rescued the driver. He was taken to Bhanjanagar Medical, where doctors declared him dead.
Police later seized the body and handed it over to the family after post‑mortem. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, though preliminary findings suggest loss of control. Investigations are ongoing.
