Odisha Vigilance has taken stringent action against corruption with the arrest of Smt. Krishna Nayak, Superintendent of Excise, Dhenkanal, on April 30, 2025.
Smt. Nayak was apprehended near Deulasahi Road, Dhenkanal, while carrying unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 3 lakh.
Subsequent investigations revealed significant assets, including two multi-storeyed buildings in Cuttack and Puri, eight high-value plots, deposits exceeding ₹20 lakh, and two suspected benami cars. These findings underscore the scale of her alleged disproportionate accumulation of wealth.
Odisha Vigilance has registered Cell Division PS Case No. 4/2025 under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Smt. Nayak will be presented before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal, marking a crucial step in the fight against corruption.
