The Odisha Vigilance department has launched simultaneous house searches at seven locations associated with Jayadev Jena, Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) of Dharmasala in Jajpur district, following allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Details of the Operation
The anti-corruption raids are being executed under search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Brahmapur. A large team consisting of 3 Additional SPs, 4 DSPs, 9 Inspectors, and supporting staff has been deployed to conduct seamless searches across multiple premises.
The properties and locations currently under the vigilance scanner include:
- A triple-storeyed building located at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.
- A double-storeyed building located at P. Nuagaon, Ganjam.
- Another residential building located at P. Nuagaon, Ganjam.
- The house of a relative located at Burujhari, Ganjam.
- The house of a relative located at Janani Vihar, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.
- A rented residential house located at Jarka, Jajpur.
- His official office chamber located at Jarka, Jajpur.
The searches are currently ongoing, and further updates and asset evaluations are expected as the operation proceeds.
