Newly entered wildcard contestant Nakul Dhull addressed the heavy backlash surrounding his viral video during his appearance on Bigg Boss 20. Interacting with fellow housemates, Nakul clarified the context of his past statements and insisted that his intentions were heavily misunderstood.
Clarifying the Viral Remarks
Recalling the incident that sparked widespread outrage online, Nakul explained that the conversation stemmed from a discussion about fear. He claimed his original point was intended to highlight how women are often made to feel intimidated, stating:
”Mera context ismein yeh tha ki tumne unko itna dara rakha hai, aur tum khud darr rahe hon. Theek hai?” (My context was that you’ve scared them so much, yet you’re the one claiming to be scared.)
Nakul argued that social media users and critics circulated a distorted narrative of his words, which blew the situation out of proportion once the footage reached a wider audience.
Stating a “Pro-Feminist” Stance
Defending his public image inside the house, Nakul asserted that he strongly supports women’s rights and empowerment, telling his co-contestants:
”Jo mujhe dekhta hai, usko pata hai ki main very pro-feminist hoon. Mera stand hai, kaafi zyada pro-feminist hoon.” (Those who watch me know that I am very pro-feminist. I have a clear stance, and I am strongly pro-feminist.)
Furthermore, he acknowledged the ongoing legal proceedings and formal complaints filed against him regarding the matter, confirming that court hearings are currently underway.
