Sydney police arrested former Australia opener and Karachi Kings captain David Warner for drunk driving during a brief personal trip.
Warner was stopped in Maroubra during a random breath test, where his blood alcohol level was found to be more than double the legal limit. He was released but is required to appear in court on May 7, 2026.
Despite the legal setback, Warner’s participation in the ongoing Pakistan Super League remains unaffected, as his court date falls after the tournament concludes. Under his leadership, Karachi Kings are currently second on the points table with six points from three matches, trailing only Multan Sultans. Warner himself has contributed 93 runs, including a half-century, and is expected to return for the next fixture against Peshawar Zalmi on April 9.
Warner, one of the IPL’s highest run scorers, previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the 2016 title and captained Delhi Capitals. His arrest has sparked debate but is unlikely to derail his PSL campaign.
