Ending weeks of speculation, Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, confirming his stay at the club until 2027.
Ronaldo’s post on X (formerly Twitter) declaring, “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together,” marks a renewed commitment to a club he first joined in 2022. The announcement follows a cryptic message he had posted at the end of the 2024–25 season, triggering widespread discussion about his future.
Now 40, the Portuguese legend has already amassed 93 goals and 19 assists in just 105 appearances for Al Nassr across all competitions. Yet, the club has eluded a league title win during his tenure. In the most recent season, Al Nassr finished third, missing out on a spot in the AFC Champions League Elite and settling instead for the AFC Champions League 2.
The extension comes at a transitional moment for Al Nassr, as the club currently lacks a manager following Stefano Pioli’s departure, marking the third full-time coaching change since Ronaldo’s arrival.
Despite challenges on the domestic front, Ronaldo recently added to his international legacy, helping Portugal defeat Spain to clinch the UEFA Nations League title—his third international trophy.
With the new deal signed, all eyes will now be on whether Ronaldo can guide Al Nassr to silverware and solidify his legacy in Saudi Arabian football.
