Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received a warm welcome from the Odia diaspora in Dubai, with more than 800 members of the community attending a special gathering held during his visit.
The event celebrated Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, with vibrant Odissi and traditional folk dance performances showcasing the state’s artistic traditions. Traditional Odia cuisine also added a distinct flavour of home to the gathering.
Members of the Odia community interacted with the Chief Minister and shared their experiences, aspirations and views. They expressed happiness and pride over his visit and the opportunity to engage directly with him.
CM Majhi Praises Odia Community’s Cultural Connect
Chief Minister Majhi appreciated the strong cultural connect maintained by Odias living in the UAE. He lauded their efforts to preserve and promote the Odia language, culture and traditions while living abroad.
The gathering highlighted the enduring emotional bond between the Odia diaspora and their homeland, reflecting how Odisha’s cultural identity and traditions continue to thrive beyond the state’s borders.
