Bhubaneswar: The Steering Committee meeting, held under the Chairmanship of the Odisha Chief Secretary, has given in-principle approval for the inclusion of additional categories of staff as Frontline Workers (FLWs) for COVID-19 vaccination.
PK Mohapatra Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, has written a letter to all the Collectors/DMs, Commissioner of five Municipal Corporations, and CDM & PHOs regarding inclusion of additional categories of staff as Frontline Worker (FLW) for COVID-19 vaccination.
The fresh categories included in the list of FLWs are:-
- Forest Officials and Forest guards
- Banking Staff / insurance Companies / NCPI, Payment system providers / Operators/vendors / cash logistic companies / cash-in-transit companies / ATM maintenance personnel, Banking Correspondence & Costumer care Points
- Railway Staff
- Staff of DCPU Staff of Childline (1098). Staff of 181 Helpline, Staff of One Stop Centres and all caregivers staff of child care institutions
- Oxygen Plant employees
- Filling station employees & call centre employees
Also, it has been approved to include the Government Veterinary Doctors, Livestock Inspectors, and Para- veterinarians as Frontline Workers (FLW) for COVID-19 vaccination.
“It is pertinent to mention here that the present priority of the State is to ensure 2nd dose vaccination of due beneficiaries and above categories of the Staff shall only be vaccinated, once adequate vaccine supply is available in the state,” the letter further mentioned.
