Nuapada: In a shocking event, a couple is said to have perished from electrocution on Tuesday in the Jonk neighborhood of Odisha’s Nuapada district.
The deceased were identified as Rameshwar Rout(39) and his wife, Bimala Rout(35), who reside in the Jonk police jurisdictional area’s Parkod village.
According to reports, the couple had erected an electric fence around their agricultural field to keep cattle and other wild animals out and prevent them from ruining their crops.
Notably, locals discovered their bodies lying on the ground in the afternoon and rushed to the hospital, where the doctor declared them dead. Bodies were sent for autopsy.
An investigation is on into the matter.
