To bolster the cooperative movement, the Ministry of Cooperation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swiggy Instamart to onboard cooperative products onto its e-commerce and q-commerce platforms.
The MoU, inked between Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary of the Ministry, and Mr. Amitesh Jha, CEO of Swiggy Instamart, signifies a significant stride in connecting cooperative brands with tech-savvy, new-age customers.
This partnership aims to provide cooperatives access to Swiggy’s advanced digital marketplace, enhancing visibility for organic produce, dairy, millets, handicrafts, and more. A special “Cooperative” category will showcase these offerings, ensuring they reach a broader consumer base.
As the world celebrates the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperation, the collaboration will also drive awareness campaigns to highlight cooperative products and movements across India. Complementing this endeavour, a cutting-edge packaging facility for organic goods and pulses was inaugurated on April 24 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
This landmark initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering cooperatives under the guidance of Union Minister Amit Shah. It is set to revolutionise market access for cooperatives, fostering growth and innovation across the sector.
