Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the state-level Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at Lok Seva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar with a strong call to action against corruption.

He began the event by administering the integrity pledge to officials, urging everyone to treat the fight against corruption as a shared moral duty.

Since the new government assumed office, the administration has dismissed 30 government employees and revoked pensions of 68 retired officials for corruption-related offenses. CM Majhi emphasized that no one, regardless of rank, would escape accountability. He assured that the Vigilance Department would maintain its aggressive stance in rooting out corruption.

Majhi commended the Odisha Vigilance team for its proactive efforts in identifying and prosecuting corrupt officials, including those in senior positions. He highlighted the success of the JAM trinity—Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile—as a transformative tool that minimizes human interference and promotes transparency.

To further strengthen the system, the Chief Minister called for robust Preventive Vigilance measures across all departments. He stressed the importance of integrating modern technology to build a clean, transparent, and efficient governance framework.

During the event, the government honored top-performing divisions and officers. Cuttack Division and Subarnapur Unit received accolades, while investigators Manoranjan Paikaray and Pranita Ray were recognized for their exemplary service. Public Prosecutor Surendra Panda from Berhampur also earned special mention.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja reinforced the government’s zero-tolerance policy, affirming that the administration remains committed to eradicating corruption. Under the leadership of Director Yashwant Kumar Jethwa, the Vigilance Department continues its statewide awareness campaign with full support from all government departments.

Together, the state aims to build a corruption-free administration that earns public trust and delivers justice efficiently.
