Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was granted conditional bail on Saturday, a day after being detained while heading toward Connaught Place and subsequently arrested.
Dipke was released by the Special Executive Magistrate at Mandir Marg subject to a conditional bail bond.
As part of the primary bail conditions, Dipke must ensure there is no breach of peace on his end for a period of one year. Further detailed conditions will be clarified once the complete official order is made public.
Dipke had previously issued a call for a ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ march on Friday evening despite receiving a Delhi Police notice directing him not to participate. According to reports, he was arrested for allegedly violating a peace bond furnished on Oct 10.
While Dipke secured conditional release, CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka continue to remain in judicial custody.
The duo was remanded to five days of judicial custody earlier this week after breaching the de-notified Jantar Mantar protest site alongside other activists.
