Authorities suspended Rashmi Sahu, assistant teacher at Chandrasekharpur Phase-2 Government High School, for negligence in voter list revision work.
She was appointed as Booth Level Officer (BLO) for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Officials alleged that she failed to discharge her assigned responsibilities. District Election Officer Chanchal Rana ordered her suspension under Section 32(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
The suspension came after reports of irregularities in the voter list revision process. Election authorities emphasised that BLOs play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and transparency in electoral rolls. Any negligence directly affects the integrity of the electoral process.
Officials confirmed that further inquiry will determine additional disciplinary measures.
