India’s squad gathered at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday for final preparations ahead of the second T20I against West Indies.
The BCCI shared images of players going through match-day routines, with captain Shreyas Iyer among those seen adjusting gear under the stadium lights.
The fixture forms part of a five-match T20I series that follows a three-ODI contest earlier in the tour. India enter the Ranchi game leading 1-0 after an eight-wicket win in the series opener at Lucknow on October 6. Iyer, leading the side in the shortest format, scored an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls in that chase of 172, his first T20I century, while Ishan Kishan contributed 37.
West Indies, captained by Shai Hope, posted 171 all out in Lucknow, with Sherfane Rutherford making 56. The visitors will look for a stronger response in Ranchi, where conditions are expected to favour spin and controlled strokeplay. The match is scheduled to start at 7 pm IST, with the series continuing in Indore on October 11.
India’s white-ball squad has used the home series to test combinations ahead of future assignments, while West Indies continue to rebuild under Hope after mixed results in recent limited-overs campaigns. Friday’s contest offers both sides a chance to settle the early momentum of the T20I leg.
