Officials from the Odisha Vigilance department on Friday launched simultaneous search operations across eight locations linked to Prasanna Kumar Patra, Deputy Director of Soil Conservation-cum-Project Director, Watershed, Sundargada, following allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
The raids are being executed based on search warrants issued by the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargada.
A high-level team comprising one Additional Superintendent of Police, four Deputy Superintendents of Police, 13 Inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and supporting personnel was deployed to conduct the synchronized operations across Bhubaneswar, Sundargada, and Kataka.
Locations Under Search
The vigilance teams are currently searching the following properties associated with the officer:
- Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar: Flat No. 8, 2nd Floor, “Shrabani Residency.”
- Manchanath Villa, Bhubaneswar: A residential double-storeyed building on Plot No. 609/2012 (Phase-2, M-105).
- Manchanath Villa, Bhubaneswar: A second residential double-storeyed building on Plot No. 604/2011 (Phase-2, M-110).
- Manchanath Villa, Bhubaneswar: A third double-storeyed building situated on paternal land under Balianta Tahasil (Phase-2, M-115).
- Balianta, Bhubaneswar: An additional residential double-storeyed building.
- Sundargada: Official room located at the Office of the Deputy Director, Soil Conservation-cum-Project Director, Watershed.
- Sundargada Town: Government residential quarter situated directly in front of his office.
- Banki, Kataka District: In-laws’ residence at Village Charchika, under Banki Police Station.
Vigilance officials stated that search operations are currently underway. A detailed assessment of seized financial documents, property deeds, bank accounts, and other valuables will follow upon completion of the verification process.
