Ganjam: The Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur convicted a former Secretary in Chandanpur Gram Panchayat in Ganjam district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 3 years.
The convict has been identified as Bijaya Pradhan, Former Secretary (Retired), Chandanpur GP under Beguniapada Block, Dist-Ganjam.
Pradhan was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a Case U/s 13(2)r/w 13(1)(c)(d) P.C. Act.1988/409/120-B IPC for misappropriation of rice received under Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY-I & II) and National Food For Work Programme (NFFWP) Schemes and Cement received under 11th Financial Commission.
He was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhmapur, and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and a fine of Rs 25,000.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Pradhan following his conviction.
