Around 40 passengers had a miraculous escape on Sunday when a government bus operating under the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva scheme lost control and slammed into a roadside tree in Kataka district.
Four individuals sustained injuries in the impact and were immediately rushed for medical care.
The incident occurred at Sabar Sahi near Bheda Durgapur while the bus was en route from Banki to Puincha. According to eyewitnesses, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and hit a tree along the stretch.
Promptly following the crash, local residents rushed to the scene to assist in rescuing the trapped passengers. Four injured individuals were evacuated and admitted to the Banki Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that all other passengers on board escaped without major injuries.
Upon receiving information about the mishap, local police arrived at the site to secure the area and clear the passage. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, including potential mechanical failure or driver loss of control.
