Two young men were stabbed by unidentified miscreants at a local playground in Murasingh village, under the jurisdiction of Deogaon Police Station in Bolangir district.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victims were seated at the playground when two individuals suddenly approached and launched a knife attack before fleeing the scene. The suddenness of the assault has sent shockwaves through the village.
Local police promptly rescued the seriously injured youths and rushed them to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir. However, due to the critical nature of their injuries, they were later referred to VIMSAR, Burla, for advanced medical care.
Although the victims reportedly recognised their attackers, authorities have yet to apprehend the culprits. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing. Police sources indicate that all angles, including personal disputes or previous enmity, are being examined to uncover the reason behind the assault.
