Several BJP and BJD workers from Zone 8 of Kuliabandh joined the Congress party in Nuapada.
The event took place on October 16, where PCC President Bhakta Charan Das welcomed the new members.
Former sarpanch Hiralal Patel also joined Congress along with his supporters, pledging support to Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi. The move is seen as a boost to Congress’s campaign in the upcoming Nuapada bypoll.
Bhakta Charan Das stated that the tribal community continues to support Congress and will remain loyal. He criticized attempts to defame Ghasiram Majhi, calling them false propaganda by vested interests.
During the merger event, Nuapada observer Muralidhar Nayak, Congress leaders Fakir Jagat, Ankit Singhai, and several party workers were present.
The Congress Nuapada bypoll campaign gains strength with this influx of grassroots support. The party aims to consolidate tribal backing and counter opposition narratives.
