The Odisha government has rolled out multiple initiatives to strengthen MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), including interest reimbursement on loans up to Rs 5 crore under the Chief Minister’s Scheme for Reimbursement of Interest (CM-SRIM).
Industry Minister Gokulananda Mallik, replying in the Assembly, said the government fully reimburses interest on capital loans up to Rs 25 lakh. For loans between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 1 crore, 75% of the interest is covered, while loans from Rs 1 crore to Rs 3 crore receive 50% reimbursement. Loans between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore are eligible for 25% reimbursement.
The minister informed that more than five lakh entrepreneurs have already registered on the dedicated Udyam portal. He added that MSME parks are being set up across all districts, with 14 parks currently under construction, managed by IDCO.
Responding to additional questions, Mallik highlighted that while the previous government had linked only 1,800 beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, the current administration has expanded coverage to 1.05 lakh people, reviving traditional rural crafts.
He further noted that both the Centre and the state provide up to Rs 30 crore assistance for MSME cluster development, ensuring infrastructure and financial support for small businesses.
