Tickets for the historic Big Bash League (BBL) Season 16 opener between the Melbourne Renegades and reigning champions Perth Scorchers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium officially went on sale on Saturday.
Initial allocations are available in India exclusively via the District by Zomato platform, alongside 4- and 12-day international travel packages curated by the Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO).
The Dec 12 clash marks the first time an official BBL fixture will be held outside Australia, promising to be one of the most-watched domestic matches in Australian cricket history.
Following discussions between Cricket Australia and the BCCI earlier this year, the proposal received official approval to bring the high-octane tournament to Chennai’s iconic venue.
“A packed stadium is what makes the BBL what it is, and we can’t wait to bring a piece of the Big Bash to Chennai,” said Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia Executive General Manager – Big Bash Leagues. Indian fans will be able to watch the live broadcast on JioStar, while Australian viewers can tune in via Seven Network and Fox Cricket.
