The BCCI Men’s Selection Committee has revised Team India’s squad for the upcoming tour of New Zealand, adding right-arm fast bowler Auqib Nabi to the roster for the first three One Day Internationals (ODIs).
Nabi, who was originally named only in the squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs, will now be available to feature for the national side right from the opening match of the series. The decision ensures early reinforcement to India’s seam bowling department.
Captain Shubman Gill will lead the side for the opening three ODIs, backed by star veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Pace-allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will feature exclusively in the first ODI before linking up for other red-ball assignments, while Shreyas Iyer takes over the vice-captaincy for the early segment before stepping into the captain’s role for the final two games.
With seasoned campaigner Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh spearheading the pace battery alongside dynamic emerging talents like Gurnoor Brar and Anshul Kamboj, Nabi’s inclusion adds crucial depth to India’s white-ball plans in New Zealand.
