Odisha government is deploying an advanced Indian Navy helicopter equipped with ground-scanning technology to search for villagers missing after the massive landslide in Ganjam.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the high-tech helicopter will take off from Bhubaneswar Airport to Bhanjanagar to survey the debris-laden terrain in Gidipabali. The specialised aerial sensors will scan deep beneath the mud layers to detect anyone trapped under the rubble.
In addition to aerial search capabilities, the state government has sought assistance from Indian Railways, requesting a team of technical experts to assist with complex disaster operations.
Heavy pulling machinery, specialised extraction tools, and hundreds of rescue workers—including personnel from ODRAF, Fire Services, and local authorities—are currently working on the ground under challenging conditions.
With multiple agencies joining forces, emergency teams are deploying every available technology and resource to expedite search and recovery efforts across the affected landslide zone.
