Orissa High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of Bidyabharati Panda, the wife of the deceased Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, in connection with his controversial death.
Following the dismissal of her pre-arrest bail plea by the High Court, legal experts and officials indicate that Bidyabharati now faces potential arrest by investigating authorities.
The high-profile case, which has drawn extensive public and media attention across the state, involves complex allegations surrounding the suspicious circumstances of the young forest officer’s death.
Law enforcement agencies had previously named Bidyabharati in their investigation alongside other key individuals. With her anticipatory bail petition officially turned down by the higher judiciary, the police and investigating agencies are expected to proceed with further legal action, including potential custodial interrogation, to uncover the full facts behind the tragic incident.
