The All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek, ‘Aparajita – Parang La 2026’, successfully concluded today as 20 National Cadet Corps (NCC) girl cadets reached Karzok, Ladakh.
DG NCC Lt Gen Virendra Vats and Ministry of Defence Additional Secretary Dipti Mohil Chawla officially welcomed the expedition.
Originally flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from New Delhi on August 18, the team covered approximately 250 kilometers over 30 tiring days.
Crossing rugged glaciers and valleys, the cadets scaled the 5,578-meter Parang La Pass, which links Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti Valley to Ladakh’s Changthang region.
Accompanied by dedicated instructors, medical professionals, and support staff, the cadets journeyed from Kibber to Karzok, demonstrating exceptional grit and endurance.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Virendra Vats commended the team, noting that such rigorous initiatives foster leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence among youth.
Designed to encourage young women in high-altitude adventure sports, the expedition successfully united cadets nationwide to promote national integration and resilience under extreme conditions.
