Amelia Kerr created history by becoming the first cricketer to score 30 or more runs in 10 consecutive T20 International innings across men’s and women’s cricket.
She achieved the milestone during New Zealand Women’s six-wicket victory over South Africa Women in Wellington, where she scored 31 off 29 balls and took 1/32 in four overs.
Her all-round performance helped New Zealand chase down South Africa’s 159/6 with nine balls to spare, giving the hosts a 3-1 lead in the five-match series. Kerr surpassed the previous record of nine consecutive 30-plus scores held by Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu and Romania’s Rebecca Blake.
Kerr’s remarkable run began in 2024 against South Africa with 43 off 38 balls, followed by an unbeaten 51 against Australia in 2025. She continued with scores of 40, 66, and a career-best unbeaten 101 against Zimbabwe in 2026. Her streak included 82 against Zimbabwe and consistent knocks of 78, 32, 30, and 31 against South Africa in the ongoing series.
Across these 10 innings, Kerr has amassed 554 runs at a strike rate of 142. She also contributed with the ball, claiming 12 wickets at an economy rate of 6.74, underlining her value as a premier all-rounder.
In the Wellington match, Sophie Devine’s explosive 64 off 34 balls powered the chase, while Kerr’s steady batting ensured stability after an early setback. Her record-breaking consistency has set a new benchmark in T20I cricket.
