Addressing the annual conference of the JNU Odisha Alumni Association as the chief guest at the conference hall of the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), the Governor paid rich tributes to the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
“JNU has stood tall for decades as one of India’s leading institutions of higher education. It is renowned not just for academic excellence but also for fostering critical thinking, openness to ideas, and a profound sense of social responsibility,” Dr. Kambhampati said. “It has always encouraged students to question, reflect, and engage meaningfully with the world.”
He noted that JNU alumni have made remarkable contributions across diverse fields, including education, public service, politics, science, media, literature, and diplomacy. Their success reflects not just personal excellence but a commitment to larger social goals and nation-building at national and international levels.

He called alumni associations important bridges between the past and the future that create opportunities for collaboration, guidance, and service while combining experience with aspiration and knowledge with energy.
“Guiding the next generation with their rich experience and insights is a noble responsibility of alumni. This not only strengthens the foundation of education but also extends its impact beyond the classroom into real life,” he added.
Highlighting that Odisha is at a crucial phase of its development journey, Dr. Kambhampati called upon the alumni to actively participate in the state’s progress. “Your contributions will create opportunities, inspire the youth, and help find innovative solutions to contemporary challenges,” he expressed hope.
