Ajay Devgn is back in his comic avatar as he dons the turban once again for Son of Sardaar 2.
The actor unveiled the official poster of the much-anticipated sequel on June 19, setting the stage for a colourful comeback. The film, also starring Mrunal Thakur, is scheduled to hit theatres on July 25, 2025.
Devgn, known lately for intense roles in Singham Again, Maidaan, and Shaitaan, pivots back to the comedic energy fans adored in the 2012 original. His Instagram caption, “The Return of the Sardaar,” echoes the nostalgia, while the vibrant poster shows the actor in full festive Punjabi flair.
Interestingly, the film’s journey hasn’t been without its twists. Actor Vijay Raaz, who had a role in the project, was later replaced by Sanjay Mishra following a director-actor disagreement. Mishra, in a recent interview, credited his close bond with Devgn for his last-minute entry.
Rounding out the ensemble cast are Sanjay Dutt, Sahil Mehta, Kubbra Sait, and Ravi Kishan, adding punch to a story expected to blend humour, heart, and action. With expectations riding high and Devgn’s proven comedic chops, Son of Sardaar 2 promises to deliver a theatre-worthy laugh riot.
